The 9c test measures four independent strength qualities. Each exercise scores 1–10 points (max 40 total), which maps to a climbing grade from 6a to 9c.
Hang from a 20mm edge for 5 seconds. Score based on total weight as % of bodyweight:
| Points | % Bodyweight |
|---|---|
| 1 | 100% |
| 2 | 110% |
| 3 | 120% |
| 4 | 130% |
| 5 | 140% |
| 6 | 150% |
| 7 | 160% |
| 8 | 180% |
| 9 | 200% |
| 10 | 220% |
Same scoring as exercise 1. Add weight until you can only do 1 rep.
